Biography

Most recently David was Standard Chartered’s International Trade Advisor, focusing on driving closer engagement between the bank, clients and governments trade agendas globally. Prior to that David led the FIG coverage of UK Banks & Broker dealers for several years before being seconded to the British Government for two and a half years, where he was the CEO of the Financial Services Organisation in the Department for International Trade.

In that role David was responsible for shaping and driving the Governments Export and Investment Strategy for the UK’s Financial & Professional Services sector, focusing on Banking, Asset Management, Capital Markets, Insurance, Fintech and Professional Services. During his time there David created HMG’s first ever FinTech Board which was chaired by the Lord Mayor and brought together policy makers, regulators, and key players across the Fintech Ecosystem. He also was instrumental in developing and creating the ‘Financial Innovation Partnership’ between the UK and US, which deepened bilateral engagement in emerging trends in financial services innovation.

Outside of work, David is a keen Liveryman and very engaged with the City of London agenda. He sits on the General Committee of the City of London Club and several other Advisory Boards.
